Westchester Jewish History and Heritage Month


Hosted by The Westchester County Board of Legislators, Chairman Mike Kaplowitz and the Westchester Jewish Council, this year's event took place on Monday, May 8, 2017 (12 Iyar) at the Michaelian Office Building in White Plains.  This year, UJA-Federation of NY was honored on its centennial with a tribute to Donald Fleishaker, Honorary Director Westchester Jewish Council & Past Campaign Chair, UJA-Federation of NY in Westchester; Frank Hassid, Outgoing Executive Director, Harold and Elaine Shames Jewish Community Center on the Hudson and Martine Fleishman, Outgoing Regional Chair, UJA-Federation of NY in Westchester. Our 2016 event took place on Monday, May 16, 2016 (1 Iyar 5776) at the Michaelian Office Building in White Plains. The event began with a Meet & Greet and light reception with the County Board of Legislators followed by the ceremony. This year, Westchester Jewish Council member organization Hazon was honored for its work in the greening and sustainability of Westchester.
