“The Land of Israel as Precious Gift and Dangerous Temptation: A Biblical Perspective”


Rabbi Jane Kanarek—Associate Dean and Professor of Rabbinics, Hebrew College
“Reading the Talmud in the Diaspora: Reclaiming Lost Stories”


Rabbi Ethan Tucker—President and Rosh Yeshivah, Hadar Institute
“Center and Diaspora: The Relationship of the Jewish Center in the Land of Israel to the Jewish
Presence Throughout the Globe”

• Shorashim will meet at the regular time and students will have the option
to stay until 1:00 PM to participate in special Israel-themed activities
• For those children who do not attend Shorashim, there will be special
Israel-themed activities from 9:45-1:00 PM (grades K-6)
