Yom HaShoah

The Council is proud to co-sponsor the annual County-Wide Holocaust Commemoration, along with the Holocaust and Human Rights Education Center.

The 2016 commemoration took place on Thursday, May 5, 12:00-1:00pm at the Garden of Remembrance in White Plains. The program included a procession of 25 of Westchester's rescued Holocaust Torahs as well as remarks by guest speaker Stanley Berger, a Holocaust survivor. Click here to view photos.

Mark you calendars for the 2017 Commemoration which will be held on Monday, April 24, 12:00-1:00pm at the Garden of Remembrance, 148 Martine Avenue, White Plains. 



The 2015 event featured remarks by Judy Altmann, a Holocaust survivor and as well as a parade of 16 rescued Torahs now housed in local Westchester synagogues.
